Saturday, 14 April, Perkins Library Rare Book Room
Historian Jim Sears, author of Behind the Mask of the Mattachine: The Hal Call Chronicles and the Early Movement for Homosexual Emancipation, will discuss the history of the Mattachine, an early gay activist organization at 2:30pm. Beginning at 1:30pm, and again after the program until 4pm, those attending the event will be able to examine materials from the Rare Book, Manuscript, and Special Collections Library that relate to the history of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. Presented by the Duke University Libraries for Reunions Weekend. Free and open to the public as well as those participating in Reunions Weekend.
