Tom Rankin discusses the photographs from “Near the Cross: Photographs from the Mississippi Delta,” an exhibit of his work on display in the Special Collections Gallery through 23 March. Rankin, a photographer and writer, has been documenting and interpreting American culture for more than twenty-five years. He is director of the Center for Documentary Studies and Associate Professor of the Practice of Art at Duke University.
