What does it mean to be an educated woman?

The combination of research, teaching and activism that Jane Addams embodied more than a century ago is at the heart of contemporary women's studies. Lisa Yun Lee (Ph.D. '99) will explore the parallels between her studies as a feminist scholar at Duke and her work as the director of Chicago's Jane Addams Hull-House Museum This program is part of a symposium on women and education honoring the career of Dr. Jean O'Barr. Lee created the Jean Fox O'Barr Professorship at Duke. Sponsored by the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture.
