Lower Floor One of Bostock (Room 037): Concrete chipping of the ramps will start on Monday, 9 February, and will last a day or two. This will be noisy work. During this period, there will also be shotblasting of the concrete floor to remove the finish so new concrete can bond. This will not be extremely loud work, but there will be a fairly constant machine background noise while it is taking place.
Perkins, at the rear of the building above Shipping and Receiving: Chipping and removal of mortar on the stone exterior will be underway. This is not an extremely noisy process, but the sounds of the work will be audible on floors 1 through 4 in Perkins.
Installation of acoustic panels in the stairwells will continue until completion of the project in about two weeks. Expect intermittent drilling noise.
Pick up ear plugs at the service desks in Perkins and on the first floor of Bostock or in the Technology Alcove on lower floor 1 of Bostock.
