Durham County Library will host a reception on Saturday, December 12 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at the Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St., to kick off the North Carolina photo exhibit, Telling Our Stories. Chapel Hill photographer John Rosenthal will speak at the reception. Local photographers Titus Heagins, Bruce Melkowits and Susan Simone are slated to attend and will be available for questions. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
The exhibit, which will be on display on the third floor of the Main Library from December 11-31, includes 11 images from the top winners of the 2008 Our State magazine Readers Choice Photography contest, 21 images from professional photographers, and 18 pictures from the State Archives, which are traveling for the first time. Among the images is John Rosenthal’s Wrightsville Beach, NC. Other area photographers exhibited are Taj Forer, Margaret Sartor and Chris Sims.
