For One Hour Only: Wednesday, 25 February, 10:00-11:00 am, visitors to Perkins Library’s Biddle Rare Book Room will have an opportunity to see items from the historic photography holdings in the Special Collections.

The display will showcase the work of documentary photographers, including William Henry Jackson's Yellowstone pictures, Mathew Brady's images from the Civil War, Eudora Welty's from the 1930s, and Edward Curtis's North American Indians.

Also on view will be many examples of 19th century photographic processes: Daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, tintypes, salt prints, albumen prints, carbon prints, cyanotypes, platinum prints, photogravures, etc.  In addition, visitors will get to see early albums, cartes de visite and cabinet cards, and the first Kodak prints.
