The New Road: I-26 and the Footprints of Progress, photographs by Rob Amberg that will be on display at Perkins in the Special Collections Gallery through 29 March
Rob Amberg, a long-time resident of Madison County, North Carolina, has been photographing the region since 1973. The pictures in this exhibit document the social, cultural, and environmental impact of the construction of a new interstate highway in his rural mountain community. Opening reception and artist's talk on Thursday, 5 February, 5:30-7:30pm, Perkins, Biddle Rare Book Room.
