Rare Music in the Rare Book Room presents Collegium Musicum, Friday, 15 January, 4pm, Perkins Library Biddle Rare Book Room
The Duke Collegium Musicum, directed by Karen Cook, comprises campus groups devoted to the performance of early music. This program will introduce listeners to the wealth of talent in this musical group as well as to the early instruments that are part of the Duke University Musical Instrument Collections. The presentation will include discussions about individual instrument families - their history, how we perform on them, their repertoire - and musical examples on each. Lutes, recorders, and crumhorns wil be among the featured instruments.
