Bea Nettles is a book artist and photographer whose work addresses issues of family relationships, the body, and the ways in which personal identities reflect political and social realities. She has been producing iconic feminist photography and book arts since the 1970s. Her work has been exhibited in over fifty museums, including the Museum of Contemporary Photography and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Check out a selection of her work in the Book + Art exhibit in Perkins Library, on display now through January 9.
Nettles will give a lecture with booksigning and reception to follow. Her visit is part of a semester-long celebration of Book Arts done in collaboration with UNC Libraries.
