Beginning Monday, December 20, after final exams are completed, the roll-down security gate leading into the Perkins Library main entrance by the von der Heyden Pavilion will be replaced. The work will continue through January 7 and is scheduled to be complete before the beginning of the Spring 2011 semester.

While the gate is being replaced, all library users will need to use the Perkins/Bostock side entrances under the Perkins/Bostock bridge to enter and exit the library. A temporary barrier will be erected in the main Perkins Library entrance and signs will be posted to direct users to the temporary entrance. There will be some noise associated with the repair work, particularly during the week of December 20 as the old security gate is removed. The noise will be most prevalent in the Circulation and Reference desk areas on the main floor of Perkins Library.
