Shauna Devine, assistant professor and managing editor of the Journal of the History of Medicine and Allied Sciences at Duke University, will give a talk on "Science, Disease and Experimental Medicine: Gangrene and Erysipelas during the American Civil War, 1861-1865." This talk is part of the Duke/UNC collaborative speaker series, sponsored by the Trent History of Medicine Society and the UNC Bullitt History of Medicine Club.
A light buffet dinner will be offered at 5:30 p.m., with the lecture beginning at 6:00. This talk is open to the public.
