How to Find Articles

Use the Articles search box on the Libraries homepage to locate newspaper, magazine and journal articles on a range of topics -- you may narrow your results or change the content type you're searching by checking the boxes to the left of your search results.

Interested in searching for articles in a particular discipline? Find a database for your subject

  • Select a category and then a subcategory to see a list of useful databases.  Need more help? View a 1-minute tutorial on choosing a database.
  • If you don't see the full-text of the article you've found in a database, click on the "get it @ Duke" link to see if Duke subscribes to the article in print or electronic full-text.  If neither is available, request the article through Document Delivery

Still stuck?

Finding articles from a citation

Look up the journal title in the E-Journals box on the Libraries homepage.

  • If we have no online full text, do a title search for the journal in the library catalog to see if we have it in print or microfilm
  • Need help figuring out what words are the journal title?  See Understanding Citations
  • Have a mystery abbreviation for the journal title?  See the book Periodical Title Abbreviations at the Perkins Reference Desk or Ask a Librarian
