EZProxy Help

EZProxy allows you to use your Duke NetID to access library resources, especially online articles and databases, from off-campus without having to download any software.

Unlike other proxy servers, you do not have to configure browsers as long as you come through the Duke Libraries articlesdatabases, or e-journals interfaces

  1. Start at the Articles, Databases, or E-Journals interface, or follow a "Get It @ Duke" link.
Going directly to a bookmarked online database or e-journal will not work.
Ignore any locks you see in lists of electronic resources, and click the one you want.
  2. A pop-up window will ask for your NetID and password.  Once logged in, you will be able to access any library resources online for the rest of your browser session.

A few special resources are restricted to Law, Business, or Medical Center affiliates, and they cannot be accessed through EZProxy.  For these resources, download the appropriate VPN client, or visit the appropriate library for access.
