The following list is a chronological index for Southern United States newspapers collected in the Newspapers and Microforms Department, located on the first floor of Bostock Library.  The Southern states included on this list are: District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee.  It does not include newspaper titles that may be located in the Rare Book Room or Manuscript and Special Collections Department.  The list is divided into twenty year spans with titles listed in alphabetical order, followed by their place of publication, dates for which the title is held, and either a call number if the title is on microform, or, the word Paper, which indicates that the title is held in paper format.  The titles listed are those for which we have holdings of three years or more.  Dates in brackets [ ] indicate scattered holdings and the physical card catalog located at the rear of the first floor of Bostock Library should be consulted for exact holdings.
