Archive of Documentary Arts

Welcome

The Archive of Documentary Arts is part of Duke University’s David M. Rubenstein Rare Book and Manuscript Library. Its mission is to collect, preserve, and provide access to photography and moving images that document the human condition.  It works closely with the Center for Documentary Studies, and the Program in Arts of the Moving Image, and the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.

**Our Reading Room CLOSES December 17, 2012, and REOPENS on the 3rd floor of Perkins Library on January 7, 2013.**

Planning a research visit? You can register as a researcher and request your materials online! Please request all materials at least 4 days before you plan to arrive.

Asking a question by phone, mail, or e-mail? Responses to reference inquiries will take more time between December 17, 2012 and February 17th, 2013 while our collections are on the move.
