Abstract
George Garrett (1929-2008) was a novelist and poet who taught at Hollins University and the University of Virginia. He also worked as a book reviewer and screenwriter, and was poet laureate for Virginia from 2002-2006.
This collection consists of fifty letters from George Garrett to DeWitt Henry, a literary colleague. Garrett's correspondence includes advice for Henry's writing and editing, along with general communication about Garrett's wherabouts and activities. This collection was acquired to complement the George Garrett Papers, which contains Henry's correspondence to Garrett.
