Abstract
Founded in 1864, the J. Walter Thompson Company is one of the oldest and largets enduring advertising agencies in the United States. The JWT London Office opened in 1899. Sam Soper was an advertising executive with JWT's London Office over a 40-year career, primarily in the Control Department. He retired in 1971 as Associate Director.
The JWT London Office Sam Soper Papers span the years 1941-1996 and consist of World War II-era correspondence and company newsletters, along with an autobiography and supplemental materials written by Soper. Clients mentioned in the autobiography include Rowntree, Reckitt, and Parker Pen. Acquired as part of the John W. Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising & Marketing History.
