Contents of the Collection
The scrapbook contains pages of autographs from Class of 1925 seniors, demerit cards (for tardiness, lateness and smoking), clippings, personal notes, dried flowers, ribbons, postage stamps, Trinity College's "Regulations Pertaining to the Social Conduct of Women" and list of "Senior Privileges." It also includes commencement programs for Duke University and North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC.)
Historical Note
Virginia Hicks was born in Durham, NC. She attended Trinity College/Duke University from 1921-1925. She was a member of the Y.W.C.A., Brooks Literary Society, Glee Club, Junior Big Sisters and the sorority Delta Phi Rho Alpha. She was known for her love of athletics and kept photographs and statistics of Duke's football and baseball teams. She lived in Southgate dorm and graduated in 1925.
