<abstract label="Abstract" encodinganalog="545">Frederick Joerg joined Duke University in 1948 as an assistant professor of Economics.  He later became a professor of Business Administration and Forest Management, and he worked in university administration as the Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Assistant Provost for Academic Administration starting in the 1960s.  Joerg retired in 1983. </abstract>

<head>Biographical Note</head>

<p>Frederick Joerg joined Duke University in 1948 as an assistant professor of Economics; he retired in 1983. During his time at Duke Joerg taught as a professor of economics, business administration and forest management.  Additionally he served as assistant dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and as assistant provost for Academic Administration.  Joerg passed away in 1983.</p>
