<p>John A. Stewman was an engineer, affiliated with the Duke Construction Company 1928-1932.  His uncle, A. Carl Lee was the Chief Engineer of Duke Construction Company and helped oversee the construction of West Campus.

<p>Collection contains materials from John Stewman's time as an engineer for the Duke Construction Company during the building of West Campus.  The collection largely includes photographs and negatives of the construction of Duke Chapel from December 10, 1930 to May 2, 1932, taken and identified by John Stewman.  Also included are engineering drawings and specifications for buildings on West Campus.  The material ranges in date from about 1926-1932. </p>
