Thanks to generous funding from GlaxoSmithKlein, the John Hope Franklin Research Center for African and African American History and Culture offers annual travel grants, on a competitive basis.
Travel grants are also available from the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture and the John W. Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising, and Marketing History. If your project includes collections from more than one center, simply check the appropriate boxes on the application form. Grants will not exceed $1000 even if awarded jointly.
Any faculty, graduate or undergraduate student, or independent scholar with a research project requiring the use of materials held by the John Hope Franklin Research Center is eligible to apply. All applicants must reside outside of a 100-mile radius from Durham, NC. The maximum award per applicant is $1,000.
