Registration
Login to the Registration and Request System (https://duke.aeon.atlas-sys.com)
You must be a registered user to request and use
material held by the David M. Rubenstein Library. If you have registered
with the Rubenstein Library in the past using the paper form, you must
re-register in the new Registration/Request System. This one-time
researcher registration process is easy and also includes the creation of an
online account. With your online account you can:
- submit
requests for Rubenstein Library material through the online catalog and
directly from archival and manuscript finding aids for onsite use;
- submit
requests in advance of a visit to the Rubenstein Library (materials housed
in our offsite storage facility, the Library Service Center, will take
approximately 24 hours to retrieve during regular business hours);
- track the
status of submitted requests;
- access
detailed information about past requests;
- and make
requests through the UNC-Chapel Hill online catalog and archival finding
aids to view material at the Louis Round Wilson Special Collections
Library.
Upon your arrival at the
Rubenstein Library, staff will assist you to complete the registration process:
- Please bring a form of photo identification. We accept government-issued photo IDs (such as a driver license or passport) and any university-issued ID.
- Library staff will take a quick, informal photo of you as part of the first-time registration process. This
will allow us to confirm a researcher's identity each time s/he visits the
Rubenstein Library reading room. The photo will be confidential and is not shared.
NOTICE: All Rubenstein Library materials will be changing
locations during 2012 in preparation for renovation and may be
temporarily unavailable. Please contact Rubenstein Library staff before
visiting to use collections.

Upon Arrival

If you have not requested materials in advance of your visit, you may request books, manuscripts, and other materials upon arrival through your Request Account. Our staff members retrieve materials regularly throughout the day. Materials housed at the Library Service Center take approximately 24 hours to retrieve during regular business hours.
