Note: Actual dimensions of item are 15.1 x 14.2 cm. 9 lines. Written along the fibers on the recto. Lower margin of 3.5 cm.; left margin of 1.5 cm.; right margin of 1.5 cm. P.Duk.inv. 609 was formerly P.Duk.inv. MF74 12. Extracted from mummy cartonnage. Papyrus letter from the Herakleopolites (Heracleopolite Nome), Egypt. Letter relates to some official business concerning Lagos(?). A slave carried the letter. The farewell reads, "be of good health." Dated to year 48, Epeiph 4 (July 23, 122 B.C.). In Greek.
