Circulation Services

Located at the main Circulation Desk on the first floor of Perkins Library, Circulation staff members can provide information on numerous library services. Circulation staff members provide information on how users can borrow library materials from the Duke Libraries as well as from other libraries. They can explain loan, recall, and fine policies; provide borrowing privileges to students, faculty and staff from Duke and from institutions with which Duke has reciprocal borrowing privileges; loan laptops; and search for books that cannot be found in the book stacks.

Services Include:

• Borrowing Privileges for Duke members, members of other area universities, the general public, etc.
• Checking Out Materials
• Renewing Materials
• Returning borrowed items
• Fines
• Placing Recalls on library materials that have been checked out for 2 weeks or longer.
• Searching for books not found in the stacks.
• Assigning study carrels and lockers
• Holding location for items lost and found in Perkins and Bostock Libraries.
• Resource desk for general questions about the library and the university.
