Copiers and Copy Cards

Most public access copiers on the Duke campus can now be used with either the standard Duke ID Card Flex account or with the blue Copy Cards sold in the libraries. There is no difference in cost between the two systems, although it was the intention of the developers for the Copy Cards to be used by visitors to the campus and for Duke students, faculty and staff to use their Duke ID Flex accounts.

Departmental Copy Cards can only be used on Departmental Card machines. See below for locations.

Costs of Copies

Copies are $.07 each using either the Copy Cards or the Duke ID Card Flex account. Copies are $.10 each if paid for with cash. While all public access machines use the card system, only a limited number accept cash. Check the listing below for a breakdown of where cash copies can be made.

Purchasing a Copy Card

Copy cards can be purchased at the VTS (Value Transfer Station) machine on the first floor of Perkins Library that dispenses copy cards, or where you can add money to your personal account in either 5, 10, or 20 dollar increments. Copy cards purchased through the first floor VTS machine are sold in increments of $5. Additional value can be added to copy cards through the VTS machine.

There is also a change machine located on the first floor of Bostock Library, across from the elevators and an ATM next to the Circulation Desk on the first floor of Perkins.
