Returning Materials

Where to return items:

  • Perkins Circulation Desk: Materials should be returned to the Perkins circulation desk to ensure proper check-in.
  • Perkins Return Slot: The book return slot is across from the print/copy station near the main entrance to Perkins.
  • Bostock Help Desk: Books may also be returned to the Bostock Help Desk.

Can I return items from other libraries to Perkins / Bostock?

The following items must be returned to the library from which they were borrowed:

  • reserve items checked out from another library
  • audio-visual materials (e.g., DVDs, CDs) checked out from another library

Other items checked out from libraries across campus can be returned at Perkins / Bostock.

Items that must be returned directly to staff:

Please return the following items directly to a staff member at the circulation desk:

  • laptops
  • DVDs
  • reserves
  • recalled items

After-hours book drops:

There are two outside book drops for the return of library materials after hours. Please do not return audio-visual materials in the bookdrops (audio-visual materials are easily damaged if left in a book drop).

  • Perkins: under the overhang to the left of the main entrance to Perkins
  • Bostock: to the right of the Bostock entrance, under the archway
