Document Delivery Services (DDS) supports scholarly research by obtaining library material unavailable in the Duke Library System. Duke faculty, students, and staff are eligible for DDS services. NOTE: Law, Medical and Fuqua Business affiliates must request Document Delivery services from their respective libraries.

As a service to Duke students, faculty, and staff, DDS borrows materials not available in the Duke Libraries. This includes materials not owned by the Duke Libraries as well as items that are checked out, lost, or missing. Books, periodical articles, dissertations, microforms, government documents and technical reports are just some of the types of material obtained through Document Delivery. We maintain cooperative agreements with other libraries and document delivery vendors worldwide. DDS also provides materials owned by the Perkins System Libraries to other libraries worldwide.

DDS also delivers journal articles from the Duke Libraries collection as well as library collections worldwide. These are scanned and typically posted to the web for retrieval.
