Organization

The Rare Book, Manuscript, and Special Collections Library is organized into four functional departments: General Administration; Collection Development, which has responsibility for defining the collecting focus of the library and acquiring materials; Technical Services, which has responsibility for the preparation of collection materials for use through archival arrangement and description, cataloging, and preservation; and Research Services, which works directly with students, faculty, and other users in making collection material directly available for use and in answering reference inquiries.
