Searching the Catalog

When searching in the Duke University on-line catalog, use the following subject headings:

• Feminism -- United States
• Feminism -- Periodicals
• Feminists
• Women's Rights

A keyword search may be more powerful and accurate than a subject search. Try using:

• Women and Liberation
• Women and Movement and United States

Using the advanced search feature, you can limit the location to Special Collections to identify materials held by the Sallie Bingham Center. You can also limit the format field to "Manuscript," if you are interested in locating personal papers and/or organization records. The advanced search also provides an option for limiting the date with "year from" and "year to" fields.
