Soviet housing shortage. A husband and wife invite a friend to live
with them and sleep on the sofa, but soon the husband winds up on
the sofa. A landmark film because of humor, naturalism, and its
sympathetic portrayal of the woman.

which includes an interview with Brooks from 1976.
