Registration and Security

Although the collections of the Rare Book, Manuscript, and Special Collections Library may be used by anyone with a legitimate research interest, we require all users to fill out a registration form and to abide by the security procedures of our reading room.

• Initial registration requires a driver's license or other photographic identification.
• The registration form (PDF, 20KB) may be printed out and filled in before you visit the Dalton-Brand Reading Room. In addition, please fill out our third-party privacy agreement (PDF, 105KB).
• Only items necessary for research and a supply of change for the photocopier are allowed in the research room. Check with staff about what is permitted. Lockers are provided for all other items, including carrying cases, backpacks, purses, coats, and books.
• Materials taken into the research room will be inspected by the staff at the desk when you exit.
