Annual Fund

Libraries' Annual Fund

While the opening of the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library has created palpable excitement on campus, it’s important to reflect on the Libraries Annual Fund this past fiscal year and, more importantly, what the Libraries were able to do because of the generous support of so many alumni and friends.

Gifts to the Libraries Annual Fund help us to provide the highest level of service to our students, faculty and the many outside researchers who use our collections on campus and around the world and help us to advance the University’s research and teaching missions.  Because of the generous support of alumni, friends, faculty, parents, grandparents, corporations and foundations, the Duke University Libraries Annual Fund set another all-time high total in fiscal year 2015 of $928,676.  Although we had an increase in cash, we had a slight decrease in the number of donors last year (2,025).

Even more importantly is what contributions to the Libraries Annual Fund have allowed us to do for our students and faculty.  From initiatives like Project Vox and the digitization of the H. Lee Waters’ films, to programming in The Edge, an expanded exhibitions program, and award-winning publications, gifts to the Libraries Annual Fund help us set a standard of excellence that improves the University’s national and international reputation.  On behalf of the Libraries’ staff and Duke students, faculty and researchers around the world, thank you for your continued support.
