Mascots and their interactions were always popular subjects for program covers. The 1967 program cover shows Duke Coach Vic Bubas with the whistle and players Bob Verga (left), Mike Lewis (right) and Warren Chapman (bottom). Incidentally, the game was played in Chapel Hill, and this program was printed there. The introduction of the 30-second shot clock inspired a cover for the 1982-83 season.

Tournaments On the 1963 cover second from left, the creature leading Maryland's Terrapin and Virginia's Cavalier is the South Carolina Gamecock. South Carolina left the Atlantic Coast Conference in 1971. Georgia Tech joined in 1978.
