During the Fall 2020 semester, stacks in all buildings will be closed to non-DUL personnel, including faculty and students. Duke Libraries Takeout allows faculty, staff, and students to pick up books and other materials with minimal contact. Items can be requested from Perkins and Bostock Libraries, Lilly Library, Music Library, and the Library Service Center.
Scan and Deliver
Current faculty, students, and staff are eligible for our limited scan and deliver service. Initiate by clicking the green "Request" button for an item in the library catalog. Eligible users will see an option for Scan and Deliver as they follow through the process. We may be able to get an electronic copy of a part of the requested work and send it, though we cannot guarantee that we will be successful.
Books can be returned at Perkins & Bostock, Lilly, or Music. They do not need to be returned to the library from which they were checked out. You can return library materials either to the drop slot or during a pick up appointment.
Overdue fines have been suspended, recalling items through the catalog has been disabled, and due dates will be extended as necessary. Learn about how to return library materials. Questions? Contact email@example.com.
Due to safety issues, there will be no physical reserves for Fall 2020.
We will try to find electronic versions of resources.
- Faculty can consult with our staff on access to publisher resources or alternatives: firstname.lastname@example.org
- For film reserves requests, contact email@example.com
Borrowing from our TRLN partners is now available. Search the TRLN shared catalog and use the green requests button to ask for materials from NC Central, NC State and UNC Chapel Hill. You will be notified when the items arrive at Duke and given instructions on how to make and appointment for Library Take out. Other interlibrary borrowing of physical materials will not be available for Fall 2020, but we can offer limited scanning and access to electronic materials. See Interlibrary Requests for options.
