Six strong reasons why Carr should be chosen for the United States Senate

Editorial by Rev. L. W. Crawford, editor of the North Carolina Christian Advocate, endorsing General Julian S. Carr for United States Senate. To summarize: Carr has been loyal to North Carolina; he was raised in a religious home as a member of the Methodist Church; he has been a life-long Democrat and his political record has been clean; he has "always stood with the people against Trusts...that oppress labor..."; and, with his connections in industry, education, and politics, and wide experience as a businessman, he understands the agricultural, manufacturing, commercial and banking interests of the state. The editorial sites the severe financial crisis suffered by Greensboro Female College, and how Carr and "Messrs. E. J. and Henry Lilly of Fayetteville" saved the college from being "entirely lost to the Methodist Episcopal Church, South" by attending the sale and helping to organize a joint stock company that "purchased and has since owned and operated the college."
