	13 lines.
	Written across the fibers on the recto; line 1 is written
	in the upper margin in a different hand; written
	along the fibers on the verso inverse to the text
	on the recto and in a different hand.
	Upper margin of 1.5 cm.; lower margin of 1 cm.; left
	margin of 2.5 cm.; small right margin.
	P.Duk.inv. 605 R was formerly P.Duk.inv. MF74 8 R.
	Papyrus letter written by Phanesis, the village scribe
	of Thmoinausiris and its dependent villages in the
	Herakleopolites (Heracleopolite Nome), Egypt. Written
	to Pesouris, basilikos grammateus or royal scribe.
	Letter reports that one of the tenants of royal land,
	Horion, sent(?) the guards or police of the island
	of Rhodon to Heracleopolis Magna to meet Komanos,
	the epistates or chief of police. That same day Agathinos
	and Philammon and others with them sealed the house
	of Ababikis. Horion and one of the other tenants
	of royal land, Petesouchos, and their accomplices
	broke into the house(?) and stole(?) a pickled goose
	and two pillows. Dated to Epeiph, year 33 (9 May
	137 B.C.). The parallel letter (P.Duk.inv. 599) is
	similarly phrased and dated to Pharmouthi 16, year
	33 (9 May 137 B.C.). Verso has a draft
	of an official letter in Greek (P.Duk.inv. 605 V).
