Per Duke University policy, the Rubenstein Library is currently open to Duke users with a Duke Unique ID (DUID) and a Duke ID card. We will post information on our homepage about the timeframe for access for all other researchers as soon as we can confirm the dates.

  • The Rubenstein Library welcomes questions from all users, regardless of academic affiliation. We are only able to answer questions related to our holdings. If you have a question of a general, historical nature, please consult the reference department of your college or university library or public library.
  • Due to our small staff and the high volume of questions received, it may take us up to four weeks to respond to you.
  • Interested in getting scans or other reproductions of material in our collections? Submit a reproduction request online.
  • If you are seeking permission to publish material that the Rubenstein Library holds a copyright interest in, including University Archives material, please submit a permissions request form.
