Also included are wills of John Dawson, Sr. (1830s-1840s) outlining the disposition of his property including several slaves and a plantation along the Neuse River.

Historical Note

Dawson family, primarily of La Grange, Lenoir County, North Carolina. John Henry Dawson (b. 1848) was treasurer of Lenoir County, married to Annie E. (Daly) Dawson, and son of Thomas Herring Dawson and Huldah Truitt Dawson.
