Founded in 1864, the J. Walter Thompson Company (JWT) is one of the oldest and largest enduring advertising agencies in the United States. It is headquartered in New York. The London Office first opened in 1899. John J. (Jack) Cronin was an advertising executive who managed JWT's Canadian and European operations before becoming Vice Chairman of JWT. Collection includes correspondence, financial and management statements; research reports; client files and other printed materials along with slides and videocassettes of presentations. Historical Note

Founded in 1864, the J. Walter Thompson Company (JWT) is one of the oldest and largest enduring advertising agencies in the United States. It is headquartered in New York. The London Office first opened in 1899. John J. (Jack) Cronin was an advertising executive who managed JWT's Canadian and European operations before becoming Vice Chairman of JWT.

JWT Europe: Executive Vice President 1980. JWT corporate: Vice Chairman 1986; Chief Advertising Officer 1987.
