Born 1923; graduated high school 1940; U.S. Navy during World War II; Duke University class of 1947; started Time Inc. 1947; Circulation Director of Sports Illustrated until 1969; retired from Life Magazine 1970; editor Golf Magazine 1973-1980. Died 2012.
