Historical Note

The Duke Student Engineers' Wives Club was formed in 1949 for the wives of engineering students, to provide opportunities to participate in and benefit from college life, to maintain and cultivate good fellowship among its members, and to stimulate an interest in and service to the community. The organization held regular bi-monthly meetings, organized social activities and seminars for members and their husbands, ran a hot dog concession at the annual engineers show, and invited speakers from the University community to address the club.
