Summary

Mi Gente is the Latino Student Association at Duke University and the largest Latino student group on campus. The group has the goals of serving the Latino population at Duke and bringing Latino culture to the larger Duke population. The Mi Gente records include the group's meeting minutes from 2013-2014; captures of the website from 2010-2015; captures of the group's Twitter feed from 2015; agendas, promotional materials, and strategy documents from 2014-2017; and digital photographs from 2015-2016.

Historical Note

Mi Gente is the Latino Student Association at Duke University and the largest Latino student group on campus. Founded in 1992, Mi Gente’s mission is to "provide a sense of community among Latin@s at Duke as well as to promote awareness and sponsor activities about Latin@ cultural, political, educational, and social issues," as stated on the group's homepage (http://sites.duke.edu/dukemigente/about/who-are-we/, accessed January 19, 2016).
