Imprimatur from the religious poem by Giacopo Sannazzaro, "The
Labour of the Virgin," printed in 1732. The censors in Padua
give approval to Giovanni Battista Rieti, printer, to publish
the text, which "has nothing against the Holy Catholic Faith,
nor against Princes, nor good customs ..." In addition, they
note, the printer is obligated to render "the usual copies to
the public libraries of Venice and Padua." These imprimatur were
very commonly seen in printed works throughout the early history
of the printed book.
