In 1919, after the end of World War I, a grop of Italians formed a national alliance called "Opera Nazionale Per I Combattenti" to benefit veterans of the war, particularly those who were farmers or agricultural laborers. As this organization's influence grew, the Fascist party, also in its own ascendancy, took control of it and presented it as its own program, as it had with so many others. One can see this new relationship between the Fascist party and the Opera Nazionale in this interesting publication from 1926, which outlines a script for a propagandistic film about agricultural production and the government's efforts to improve it.
