Fanny Zampini Salazar worked all of her adult life for the emancipation of Italian women, even traveling to the United States to speak at the World's Fair in Chicago in 1893. In the autographed pamphlet published in 1886, "A Look to the Future of Women in Italy," Salazar stresses that women should be educated, and that they should receive training at some useful trade in case they are widowed, orphaned, or abandoned.
