Written along the fibers on the recto. Lower margin of 5 cm. P.Duk.inv. 502 was formerly P.Miss. 68. Papyrus contract of surety from Egypt by a woman for another person, perhaps Maria. The woman swears by the emperor, and the contract contains various stipulations about fines. The signature is followed by the notarial subscription. The notary is called Paphnouthios son of Heron.
