      Select "Special Collections Library" on "Display holdings first for" pull-down menu

      Conduct a keyword or subject headings search using the following Library of Congress subject headings:

        United States�History�Civil War, 1861-1865�Regimental histories
        [name of state] History�Civil War, 1861-1865�Regimental histories
          For Confederacy:
          Confederate States of America. Army [state] [infantry, cavalry, artillery etc.] [number]
            Example:
            Confederate States of America. Army. Virginia Infantry Regiment, 20th
          For United States:
          United States. Army [state] [infantry, artillery, etc.] [number] [year]
            Example
            United States. Army. New York Artillery Regiment, 4th (1862-1865)

  3. Look for the following subjects in the Special Collections Library Card Catalog
      For Confederacy
        C.S.A. Army. Regiments [name of state] [infantry, cavalry, artillery, etc.] [number]
      For United States
        U.S. Army (Civil War) Regiments [state] [infantry, cavalry, artillery, etc.] [number]
