My Dear General:
This will introduce to you Mrs. S. E. Thompson of Tennesee. Her claims upon the government for services rendered during the rebellion are second to no woman in the country. She served for some time as a union spy and was the means of the surprise which resulted in the Killing of Morgan and the capture of his Command. She subsequently served as a hospital nurse till the close of the war, If you can give her employment after the 1st of July you will confer a favor on
Yours very Respty,
M. J. Foote
Genl. W. W. Dudley
