To limit the spread of COVID-19, Duke University and the City of Durham require that all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks over their mouth and nose while indoors in non-private spaces. We ask that all library users comply with this rule in all spaces of the library, including the stacks, study rooms, project rooms and open areas.

Given this mask requirement and Duke’s additional guidance about dining on campus at Duke for Spring 2022, library users will not be permitted to have food onsite, although covered drinks are still permissible.

For students, faculty and staff of Duke, we have an obligation to each other to follow health safety protocols under the Duke Compact. Failure to abide by these rules in the library, as in any other Duke facility, may result in reporting and disciplinary action.

Duke University Libraries warmly welcome visitors back to use our spaces as guests. We ask that you abide by our community policies and rules. Failure to wear a mask may result in your being asked to leave the building and could result in further loss of access to other Duke facilities.
