Duke University faculty, doctoral students, and visiting scholars can request individual and shared carrels. These small, private study spaces can be used as an office.
How to get a carrel
Carrels are in high demand! We want to make sure carrels are distributed fairly, transparently, and in a way that does as much good for our communities as possible.
Step 1. Use the table below to help determine whether you are eligible for a carrel based on your status at Duke.

Step 2. Sign up for a carrel waiting list. Due to high demand for carrels, the wait for an individual carrel may be a year or more.
